How to tell if Java installed

I have a new laptop which uses windows 7 home premium.I am not sure if Java is installed.How can I tell and where do I look.If it is not installed perhaps someone could send me a link to install it.

In Firefox browser under Tools - Plugins - should be listed. In Internet Explorer - Tools - Manage add-ons.

If NOT installed then click on Get Add-Ons under Tools

Entry in: Control panel | Java. (this is where you configure the options, updates, etc)

This will tell you if you have Java installed and whether it is the latest version
