i know that there are different types of viruses that do different amounts of damage.
recently a 3rd dvd drive has appeared in my computer folderlabelled drive G: it loks like drive F: i cant understnad what the hell has happened.
how does system restore choose its restore points ive gone into it to roll back to a previous time and it said that no restore points were available for and one had just been created for that day.
cant you has several restore points ive given it the most amount of space to use system restore.
i got plenty of spare hard drive space available ive only used about 10gb of 2x160gb.
ive scanned my system with ADWARE SPYBOT and MCAFEE VIRUS SCAN.

You haven't installed a virtual drive have you? Some cd writing software and other types of software gives you the option of installing what they call a virtual drive, I think the basic idea is to install an entire CD on to the virtual drive so you no longer have to put the cd in. Haven't actually bothered trying it but it does show up as an extra cd drive in my computer.
