How to separate audio from DVD

I have a locally made DVD of a meeting I attended, which includes footage of introductions and preliminary remarks. I want to discard all this and all the video itself, and keep only, as an audio recording, the actual speeches themselves - playable e.g. via WMP.

Can anyone tell me how to go about this?

I'm using windows 8.1 Thanks.

Thanks Fruit Bat /\0/\ -- - I got VLC downloaded via your link, and it's done what I wanted.
