mate has got a pc with win xp upgrade loaded, will not load windows the whole system just re-boots before it loads splash screen,he seems to think is a registery problem, he has got a win me startup disc that he can access the c: drive from. How can repair the registery from this?
Any ideas/suggestions as too why this may have happened?.
Try pressing the ESC key to load the BIOS settings on boot up, to check if your drives are actually being recognised. If this is the problem reset the drives (Check instructions on screen for method). The alternative is to go to click here, download the XP boot files (comes as 1 file which splits onto 6 floppies), and boot from there. Method. Set the bios to boot from floppy disk. Put disk 1 into the drive and the XP CD into it's drive. Re-boot system and follow instructions. After the inital terms and conditions (press f8 top continue), press ESC to select your options for repairing the system.Hope this helps Terry
