How to rename file using dos?

Hello, I wanted to rename a file using MS-DOS, using the ren command. I located the directory the file was in, and im using the cmd.exe not command. I typed in ren filename and new file name, but the file has a space in the name and i don't know how to show a space using dos. Can someone please tell me. Thanks.

Try putting file name in quotes. " "
