I have tried to open an attachment on an email and a window pops up saying : This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel. What does it mean and how do you do that? I have got AVG professional, so I suppose it is safe to open that attachment, or is it? Thank you.
Its a XLS File (Excel spreadsheet file?) If I need any spreadsheet programs to open the file, I haven't got any installed on my PC. Unless I install microsoft worksuite 2001 that came with my other older PC. Is there any other way to open that file?
You could always try OpenOffice, which is a FREE suite similar to Microsoft Office. It should be able to open and save most files created by the latter (I say "should" because some of the most advanced features of MS Office are missing, but most people probably wont notice)
