How much difference between these 2 CPUs

Intel P4 Northwood 2.8Ghz 533Mhz FSB with 512Kb cache against a Intel P4E Prescot 3.0GHz 800FSB 1MB Cache could someone tell me would there be a big difference in performance as the prices are £12 difference is it work the extra £12

A lot depends on what you intend to use the pc for and whether your motherboard supports 800FSB.

The Prescott will run quite a bit hotter, but it would also have hyperthreading which the northwood would not. This would make it better for multi-tasking, or just make general computing smoother. It also has the higher clockspeed. A gudgulf said though, it depends on what your motherboard can support.
