Hello my sister had an old laptop, which unfortunately no longer works, and she has been given a brand new netbook one as a gift, she has virgin broadband, but she had not previously set up the wireless router. The wireless router comes with a cdrom....and the netbook does not have an optical drive,...so any suggestions pls??? My sister does not have dough to purchase an external optical drive so thats not an option.....so r there any other ways to make it wireless pls??

smackheadz suggestion is the way to go unpug the Virgin modem from the mains for at least 10 min then plug the lead from the modem into the internet socket on the back of the router then the netbook into one of the network sockets on the back of the router, then switch on the modem and leave for a couple of min to settle then turn on the router and leave for a couple of min then switch on the netbook.
If it is a router supplied by Virgin then the address you will need to type into your browser to access it should be written on the bottom along with the amin and password the browser address will be something like http/:192.186.1.1

Netgear uses 192.168.0.1. just type that into address bar when everything connected and switched on.
