How to install a DVD player

  elsiejr 14:13 18 May 2008

I've just bought a refurbished Dell Latitude D600 laptop. It has a CD player but I would like to fit a DVD player. If I push a button on the side of the laptop the CD box slips out. To fit a DVD player do I simply buy one and slide it in? Seems almost to easy to me!

Sadly no. Laptop's are not user freindly the way PC's are. You need a compatible DVD drive (smaller than a conventional PC device) and the case needs to be dismantled....A job for an expert.

Tackling laptops is a job for the pros....What about an external DVD (USB) DVDRW?

If the CD Drive slips out at the touch of a button then as long as the new one is compatible then the new one will slip back in
