How to find out if Java is needed on a PC

  jtt 12:26 04 Sep 2008

Someone I know has a PC that has Java (by Sun) installed, which asks to be updated from time to time. I'm not sure if Java is actually needed. It might be that it was once, but the programme that used it has been removed. How do I find out if any of the installed programmes need Java?

It doesn't have Open Office installed (which I believe does need Java).

as FB says its only need by web pages and it dettects when a new java version is out and asks to download and it don't take up much space so don't worry about it and let it do its job its the same as using a windows update un install and forget about it after
