How do you make good looking Texts & Logos?

I know there are tools out there but i dont like buying on the net, especially when some of these sites dont support SSL & HTTPS://

Anyway i tend to use wordart but they arnt very good lucking if you know what i mean. I need a excellent freeware program which can offer the ease of use to creating good lucking text effects & logos. Aslo i need some cool gif buttons.

All links truly appreciated Thanks

Look around for cover disk versions. I have Xara Webstyle 1.2 which is excellent, and Xara 3D 2.1, both were free on Magazine CDs

is there anyway i can convert flash files *.swf to animated gifs *.gif?

If so i can make my buttons in flash and convert it!

Otherwise ill just close this topic i think, not many people seem to know any tools. Its just i see that many cool looking texts, buttons & logos i wish i had the right software to make my own.

Thanks anyway mate

Ahem, as it goes I use the BEST tools for the job. Actually ROFL I use three.

MS Paint

MS Photo Editor

MS Photo Draw

I have found myself using the later more recently though as it has many features which I find both easy to use & fast. But Ironically I usually hit the print screen and save my creations using MS Photo editor (PNG Image Format!!!!!)
