Ok, most of us have done it at some time or another, and the other night due to bordom so did I, yep I looked online at some porn. I have WinXP with SP3 and all windows updates running Kaspersky Internet security v7 fully updated soon to be changed to the 2009 version.

Ok, this is what I am puzzled about is then I was looking at some online porn a messenger window on the bottom right popped up (No Jokes Please) and it said (I am in a Hotel Room in X would you like to come and ****)

Does anyone know how they know that I am in the same place as X have they got into something in my files maybe or is it my ISP sending a default scare pop up through the Broadband.

Concerned to how the other end new where I was would be very interested.

Surely it can only locate one as to where the ISP is supposed to be ie approximate area which need.nt be where the actual user is .

I just checked out your first link 'ipad address location' and it pinned me down to somewhere near Blackpool. I live in Norfolk!? It got the country right though.

I surf in 'Stealth Mode' my protection is...

Spyware Terminator
Ashampoo Firewall
My ISP is Orange
and I'm connected to the Net with Belkin wireless

When I put in my email address for them to trace me. The best it could say was "that is was a valid email address' but it got the IP number wrong. When I did the Ping test 'Nothing'. When I put in my IP address it said I resided in 'Nottingham'

I've never gone looking for porn, but our teenage sons clearly have judging by their temp internet files. Once I was trying to find a game hack so I could play without the disk in the pc (the disk had developed a worrying crack and I'd watched youtube clips of exploding discs in optical drives). Looking for that kind of thing you tend to end up in the less savoury parts of the web, and one furnished me with a cheery popup enquiring if I was looking for people to f*** in Newmarket! That was entirely accurate. The location, not the motive for my search. Scary!!

The two links I provided were only as an example and were the first two I found on doing a Google search, it is surprising what information your browser 'transmits' when you access websites.

If you are worried about your PCs security head over to click here and run the different tests, you may well be amazed as to how insecure your PC may be.
