How do i remove the start up programs

  Ambasedor 09:37 06 Dec 2007

I have programs that start and put themselves in the tray at the bottom of the screen. Certain things like the clock and my internet conection are fine but there is a string of others I dont want. Also i boot straight into windows Live which i dont want. How do i stop that.

start/run msconfig and untick the start ups you do not want or set propertties of each individually to not start when windows does.

2 tools/internet options and change home page to be whatever you want, it will then always boot to there.

Download this program, which will allow you to delete, disable, or enable programs on start up

Which will also speed up the boot up time for your computer

Start-up Control Panel

Hi, initially, use the msconfig utility and disable the offending programs.
For a guide on how to use this utility, click here

For advice on which programs are necessary, click here

Disabled programs will still be available to use via Start/ All Programs.

A cleaner option will be to open each offending program and check to see if there is a method to prevent it running at startup.
