Hi, please can anyone explain how i can remove certain programmes on the bottom left of my screen? At the moment i have 'Internet Explorer', 'Firefox', 'Replay media catcher' and 'Windows media player', am i right in thinking these are 'start up' items? I dont want Firefox, Replay media catcher or Windows media player....
Thankyou-Craig

These are shortcuts and can just be right clicked and deleted by=ut not sure re IR7. The others can be deleted.

This area of the taskbar is called the Quick Launch Toolbar but the icons shown there are NOT startup programs and only launch when you click the icon.

Programs that are started with Windows are shown on the right of the taskbar by the clock.

Right click on the Taskbar.Toolbars.And untick quick launch.

Could be that buel means the programs on the start up menu i.e those below your account name.

In this case goto "Control Panel/Taskbar&StartMenu/StartMenu/Customise.

There you can choose how many programs to show on the start menu and by selecting none then it will clear the programs you mention except for IE which you can select or deselect by a tick box.
