Does anyone know of a simple way (or any way) to completely remove Bing from my computer? Judging by the many, many blogs I have read a lot of people would like to know how to do this.

Click on the little arrow on the search bar.
Manage search providers.
Click on Bing and press remove.

Tried that and the Remove button is greyed out. Google ie on top so as yet I have not used Bing.

Did manage to disable it though.

I take it you are using IE8.
Microsoft pushes there own browser Bing as the default browser and makes it hard to download Google.
Thats probably why Bing is getting popular.

Yes IE 8 and W 7.Still keep Google as opening page.

Thank you buteman. That worked for IE but in Firefox, which I prefer, the little search box at the top right is still Bing

This is what worked for me - Xp Home sp3 IE8.

Click the little arrow > Manage search providers.

Make sure there is more than one provider (add a couple if neccesary), click on each one so that they are all 'enabled' (option at bottom of page).

Click /highlight one of the others & set as default - then when you click on Bing the 'Remove' option is no longer greyed out > remove Bing.

Hope this helps
cheers.

Help!
Where is this "little arrow" you are all discussing please?

My home page is Orange. The problem I have is that Orange is taking an age to open.

When it does, I do my search and it opens up in Bing.com which I am finding difficult to read due to my sight more than anything.

Can I do anything at all to stop this Bing.Com engine appearing?

Have two computers one with XP the other with Vista same problem on both.

Simple language guys please.

In Firefox the arrow is on the left side of the search bar.

Click it and choose "Manage Serach Engines"
