i tried to overclock my amd 2500+ barton core proccessor from 1.833ghz to 2.250ghz but it corrupted my os. i got my mate round and he reformatted the hard drive and then reinstalled the os which then fixed the problem, but instead of putting to proccessor back to 1.833ghz he put it back to 1.457ghz. iwant to put it back to 1.833ghz but if i do it might corrupt the os again any ideas on how to put it back to 1.833ghz or are there any tools to overclock it when im in the os or is the only way to overclock it in the bios.

All you would have to do is go into the BIOS and change the FSB to 166mhz i.e. 333mhz for your 2500 Barton.
