A daft question but I have a dell 9150 pc and I need to know if it has an ethernet card/port or socket? Is there an easy way to tell, I looked round the back and it looks like a socket for a dial up modem although the cat5 will fit. I bought this pc in a rush and assumed it would have a few thngs as standard. i was wrong eg no serial port so had to buy card. I have a wirless modem/router and may want to have it in pc downstairs the 9150 but it needs an etehrnet port??

It would appear from what you say - that you have an ethernet connection.
Most new PC's these days do not have internal modems - just a ethernet socket for cable. It is more rectangle that a modem socket.
