In Windows XP "Windows explorer", under the file type heading displays the Programme associated with the file extension. How do I get it to show the . extension (e.g. .mp3) as it did in Win 98?

In tools>folder Options>view make sure there isn't a check mark in "hide extensions for known file types" (under files & folders, and if there is take it out - job done!
