How do I get rid of Malware on my laptop please?

I have a new laptop and am running a free trial of Buldog security. the last two times that I switched on the laptop I got a message saying:-

"Bulldog stopped a Malware
Infected file:wuaudt.exe
Path C:\windows\system32

Bullguard action
Bullguard has BLOCKED access to this file your computer has NOT been infected"

How do I remove the file or malware or whatever it is please?

Bulldog is apparently doing what it says on the tin. Stop worrying.

Just be careful about your on-line habits/sites visited etc.

Technotiger- I appreciate that Bulldog is doing what it says but it suggests (to me & I'm probably wrong!)that the infected file is on the laptop somewhere and I was presuming it would be better to remove it altogether?
I wasn't going to buy Bulldog st the end of the trial as i was going to try one of the free options like AVG.

PS Have just started using facebook so presume the problem is in something that I'm doing on there :(

looks like a false positive. click here

Thanks buteman- to put it simply for me, do you mean that Bulldog is making me feel better by fixing something that isn't broken?? LOL!

I would not remove it.In case it is needed.

Ok, so just leave it- I'm confused though- is it infected?

I guess you are referring to Bullguard not Bulldog.
I run Bullguard on 2 machines and had this notice myself,as Technotiger says it was blocked.
You could run a scan with Bullguard. My scan showed as virused but it was removed by Bullguard ,I suspect they've had an issue with their Anti Virus engines click here.
If you are worried you could contact their online support.
I don't use Facebook

I have not used Bulldog, but have always used the Free AVG, it has never given me any problems, so I would recommend AVG.

Make sure you also have something like SuperAntiSpyware, free and downloadable, and a good Free Firewall.
