how do i find my ip address

i want to act as a server. i found my ip address within the ethernetwork but users out with the lan can not access my computer. how can i find my modem address and allow users to access me as a server?

my internet connection is set up through a 4-way broadband router (ntl 600k).

Run a command prompt and type in the following

ipconfig /all

Note there is a space after ipconfig. This will give you the addresses of your adaptor etc on your system.

Then 'Probe My Ports'.

Your IP address will be displayed and then the effectiveness of your firewall be tested.
