Win XP pro is on Toshiba PCX2500 Cable modem. I also want to connect my win 98 PC to this modem (which is presently on dialup.) My ISP says its OK but get your Tech to do it. Is it so difficult? Thanks

Get the Win 98 talking to the XP using a network, then set up Internet Connection Sharing. XP has a wizard to make it easy.

Cant I just have them indepentantly from each other but using the same modem?

get a wireless router, plus the card,as in the post above, and then both can surf away to their hearts contents..........

I do not want to connect the two computers to each other. I thought that it is possible just to connect my windows 98 direct to the cable modem as it has a second outlet on it. The first outlet is connected to my other computer with win XP pro.
