How do I clear temp internet files?

  Amer 23:28 08 Feb 2009

Hello everyone.

On my previous machine, there was an option whereby you could clear out the contents of your temporary intertet files by locating the folder through explorer and just deleting all the content. Is this possible on Windows XP? I can't find such a folder. I have switched on the 'show hidden files' option but still can't locate it. On a related matter, should I be doing it this way anyway or is there purpose designed software for this? If so, what would you recommend?

Many thanks for any help in advance

Use Disk Cleanup - in Programs - accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup.

For a better clean Wise Disk Cleaner click here

Or CCleaner

If you change the settings in Explorer to show all files and folders, you'll see the folders - they're normally hidden.

To stop them building up, change the setting in Internet Explorer to delete them when it closes.

The folder is in Documents and settings - User Name - Local settings - for each user.
