How do I check the page size in m/s word?

I had an A4 document open in m/s word and wanted to change its size to publish a "Royal" size book, which is 15.593 cm x 23.389cm. I went into the layout>size tab and used the custom size to change. BUT...

How can I check the size of the pages? Opening the original document I can see the A4 window high-lighted, but there is no custom size highlighted after I have changed it, although I think that the change has worked because the text has redistributed itself. What have I missed?

Which version of word?

In MS word 2007 when you open a new document go to the page layout tab and select size if the size is not available select more paper sizes at the bottom from here you can select custom size.

Answer

Just have the ruler showing in word will tell you the size of the page.
