I sent a scanned photo to a friend and he has mailed me back to say that he can't open it. He has asked me to send it again as a JPEG file.I've looked in Windows Explorer and it is a TIF image but no extension is shown to the file name (of Scan001).

right click it and open with mspaint.then go to file - save as.use the drop down to choose the file type you wanna save it as.
I thought that you could just change the extension! How do I confugure Windows Explorer to show me the extension e.g .xls or .doc?
control panel, folder options. then view.untick - Hide extensions for known file typesapply it.
