I need to change the fan (Akasa 60mm) fan that sits on my CPU, but I've never replaced a component like this before so I wondered if there was a detailed tutorial available that could help me out ?

Many thanks

It depends what CPU is fitted If it’s a Socket “A” then you should see a clip that goes through the heat sink fins you have to unclip this at one end without damaging the Motherboard, some you can use a screwdriver in a special slot in the clip to press down and out off the plastic hook. take care not to brake the hook also

if you can get an identical fan with the same motherboard connector you don't need to disturb the heatsink at all. Just unplug the fan connector from the motherboard and undo the 4 screws which hold the fan on the heatsink. Refitting the new fan is, as they say in the Haynes manuals, the reverse of removal.
