Is it possible to block individual url's, maybe using a firewall in a particular router, by just typing in the address ?

You can do it via your hosts file click here

You can do it through your browser. Which one are you using?

To Woolwell 3:42, Firefox 32

I don't normally use Firefox. But you will need an add-on something like Blocksite

IE has it built in, Chrome requires an extension.

Do you require parental controls?

To Woolwell, Many thanks for your help. Will look for a suitable add-on. Pushing 77 so I'm allowed.

Check if your router can do this. TP-Link routers allow you to do so but only a certain amount
