I'm writing my first website, using Serif WebPlus 8, running under Win XP Home SP2. I know nothing about HTML.
I want my website to include a downloadable file in Word or PDF format (or possibly both). When I upload the website to my ISP's server, I guess I can include the Word/PDF files with my website files, and include a hyperlink to those files on the appropriate web page. But what do I have to do to ensure that people can actually read or download the files? Will the Windows download wizard automatically spring into action, or do I have to include some function to trigger it?
