How did I get I-Worm/Netsky.D ?

  Halmer 20:01 29 Mar 2004

When: -

1 My AVG is always bang up to date
2.I only receive a few emails per day
3. I don't visit dodgy websites
4. I'm always cautious and delete, without opening, any emails I am not expecting
5. My preview pane is disabled

yet I've just run Ad-Aware and it has told me to run AVG to get rid of this worm.

I've duly run AVG and it has claimed to 'heal' the worm.

Is this all I need to do please?

Maybe you have missed an update. I had a time when i was getting about 10 or so emails a day with the netsky worm, but avg picked them all up and put them in the virus vault, i then deleted them from there. It never attempted to heal them though. See if its in the vault and delete it.

only pick them up when you run it or is the resident shield suuposed to stop them?

Resident shield should pick them up and put them in the virus vault, where you can delete them.

Click on files to highlite them, then either click bin with red arrow on it, or click file ,then delete files. just done two the bin way.

I had the virus when I ran Ad -Aware.

I then ran AVG to get rid of it. AVG did not pick it up 'automatically'.
