Hi, My wired speakers are plugged into the soundcard sockets - I have also bought 2 wireless speakers that have a usb dongle as a sender ,but when plugged in ,it cuts the sound to the wired speakers, is there a way of combining the 2 lots of speakers -we are using windows 7

I think it might depend on which sound card you have. Although I don't have USB Wireless speakers, my sound card (a quite old Soundblaster) gives me numerous options for setting up speakers.

its actually the intergrated sound chip on the dell motherboard - if I used an external usb sound card would the wireless usb dongle work combining all the speakers

Well it certainly won't work with your integrated card, if it is going to work at all then a Dedicated Sound card is needed. Check out the sound cards available, you should be able to find out before buying, if it will do what you want.
