How to choose the right graphics card

  jayc1977 23:07 17 Oct 2008

Hi folks,

Need help choosing a new graphics card for a dell precision 450, it has 1 AGP Pro 50 1.5v at 8x/4x/2x/1x or 2 PCI and 1 PCI-X. I would prefer the card to go into the AGP slot. Not all that clued up on this but any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need anymore details just ask and I will try my best to find them for you!

you could do a lot worse than with one of these: higher the price, the better. they are all AGP but check carefully that they are truly compatible. If your computer is less than about 4 years old it will be.

As a follow-up to the previous question, I am looking at buying a Radeon 36xx or 38xx AGP graphics card for a recently purchased iMedia 3036. It comes with a 270W power supply, I am wondering if I need to upgrade it to run the above cards and if so, to what and where from as money is limited?
