Hi all

I am just finished fittin a replacment HD in a box belonging to a young man!!

I want to change the startup screen and put his mane on it, i did this in 95 , but can't find the logo.sys file in 98?

I found the logow and logos.sys files, both shutdown files, but can't find the startup one, done a google, got a 98 logo.sys file and changed and loaded that , nothin.

I looked at all the .jpg and .giff and any other files i could find but aint gettin nowhere...

Anybody know where they hid the startup logo?

I know it's a bit trivial, but he would be well pleased!!! :-)

Thanks all

click here for what seems a comprehensive explanation of the situation. Can't be sure it will work though.

Looking in my 98SE I can't find 'logo.sys'either.
BUT if I create a start up logo, rename it 'logo.sys' and put it in C:\ it works.
Removing the created logo restores the Win98 logo.

bueeuuem that's exactly what i did...

I got a logo.sys file on the net, altered it and put it in C:\windows , which is where logos and logow are , but as you piont out it should be in C: ....

So i got i sorted, many thanks for your advice Diodorus that's a good link ...

Cheers and thanks for your time...
