Hello everyone,
I'm probably being quite thick but I've had no luck in trying to print a list of the mp3 files which are on a CD.
Any help please?

The above cost money.

You could do this. Open up the folder that has all your MP3's listed. Hit the PRINT SCREEN button. Open up Word, hit CTRL V to paste the picture into Word, then crop the picture so just the file list shows. I've not tried this though.

I found this but again untried..'if you wanna make a list insert the mp3 cd into your drive, then goto the dos prompt and type dir E:\ /s/b >temp.text
this will copy the all the filenames of your cd into a text file'.

About the easiest way to do this is to go to a DOS prompt, change to the directory of the mp3 files, and list the files to the printer or to a text file where you can edit the file or print it.
For example, to print listing to a file:

dir *.mp3 > mp3list.txt

or to print directly to a printer:

dir *.mp3 > lpt1

...and finally..'Hold down the Windows key and hit the letter E to open Explorer. Expand the tree to the directory and click on it in the left hand pane to display the contents in the right hand pane. (We will call it C:\MP3)
Now, go to Start/Run, type in the word "command" without the quotation marks and hit OK.

This will show you the prompt of your C:\MP3.

Type in dir and hit enter. This will display the contents of C:\MP3.

Type in "dir > c:\MP3\MP3.txt" without the quotation marks and hit enter.

Then type in Exit to close it out.

On your open MP3 folder you will find the MP3.txt

To go a step further you can open this file within Excel from File/Open. You will be prompted to choose the following: Tab delimited, next, comma separated and finish. You can then manipulate the data to your liking (to remove the dos file names).
