How can I get rid of Internet Explorer URLs?

  Bailey08787 17:35 17 Jul 2006

I'm trying to delete URL's that have been saved in the memory of IE.

I've tried right-clicking on the IE icon, then selecting delete files, and also clearing the history - but URL's still remain.

I've also gone into various temp & cookie folders to empty these, but the URL's still remain.

Actually, to be accurate, the URL's don't come up when I click on the address bar, but come up as a kind of auto-complete function.

So if I type www.a - all of the sites previously visited beginning with a will appear (in fact not all, but just some nagging ones I can't seem to get rid of)

In IE, Tools > Internet Options, Content tab, Autocomplete button, Clear Forms button.

Have you tried this on XP ? as it says for windows 95 and 98 possibly 98se.

I think that I had it on my last box which ran 98se. I saved it to disc and then put it on this box, XP. I have just tried it and it still works o.k.
