How to backup Windows Mail.

Im wondering what is the best and simplest way to backup my stored messages in Windows Mail (Vista)?

I knew how to do it in OE6; find the store folder and simply copy the folders to the back up destination etc. Is it the same for WM?

If I just go to the store folder location and copy it to my external drive will that do it?

If so, how do I, if I need to, restore them (eg in the event of a disaster, crash etc)?

Or is it better to use the File-Export and File-Import method?

Thanks Mat

Actually i went and took the plinge and had more or less just done that before I saw your answer. But the good news is it works pretty well.

I did a trial with a not important folder and it exported fine, and imported again. OK, it seems to come back into a folder called "Imported Folders" rather than where you want them, so its drag and drop time. But at least you can get a backup if WM has a disaster. Great.
