Hotmail brings up xml.contentmatch.net badurl

Has anyone come across this problem and if so, how did you solve it?

When I sign in to MSN Hotmail, after pressing enter after inputting User and Password I get a rogue search engine. The address line says:

http:\\xml.contentmatch.net badurl.....

It looks like something has been downloaded accidently. I cannot uninstall IE6 and reinstall/repair, as I already have a recent version. Does anyone know if there are there any registries I can remove to get rid of this?

Regards,
Kev

Are you running any spyware removal tools? Here are some to try; click here
Ewido recommended if you run Win2k/XP - uncheck all options for background scanner/context menu upon installation.
Just out of interest, has `contentmatch` been added to your IE Trusted Sites without your intervention?

Thanks Skyver. Almost there now, the contentmatch no longer occurs. Instead I get Page not found.

Use this to quickly disable your HOSTS file, it may have been modified ; click here

Shut down IE, disable HOSTS, then use a new instance of IE to access Hotmail.
