Host name resolution

I'm having trouble with my laptop accessing my small network. I'm doing my best at self help but have got stuck!

It is a 4pc network via a Belkin router, all on XP. 3 pcs are wirelessly connected, 1 wired. The other 3 all function normally. The laptop can access the internet & print via the network but when I try and access other pcs to share files & synchronise laptops I get an access denied message. I have pinged all the otehr pcs from the laptop giving the problem and that it fine with the IP address but when I try and ping them with the computername I get no reply. According to the MS Knowledge Base I have a'host name resolution' problem but I don't know what to do - please help.

This problem started after I used my laptop while away on wireless and wired networks to access internet but I havn't changed any settings, if that gives a clue as to what might have happened
