HomeHighway ISDN lost connection problem

  Andy69 00:14 05 Mar 2003

I've been using HH for about 3 months now and it's been working fine.

For a number of weeks now, my internet connection appears to stop responding, the ISDN dial-up remains connected, however, access to the internet stops, i.e. browser reports page not found, or e-mail application returns unable to connect to server messages.

This can happen at any time, either within a few minutes of connecting or after a long period of time connected. I've recently noticed that it can tend to be following a period of intensive data download, however this is not always the case.

I've been using two different ISP's and the same problem happens with both of them.

I'm running a 1.8GHz Celeron, 256Mb, XP Pro system. ICS is running with an ISDN 64Kbps connection using a 10/100 hub and 22Mbps Wireless Access Point.

The loss can happen when any of the machines are using the internet connection.

I've checks online and read about MTU's and different settings but I'm nervous of changing things that I don't understand!

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
