Had PC and laptop working fine when one was XP and the other win 7.

Now problem is that both are no W7 and when I create a homegroup on the desktop, jot down the password, go to laptop - no option to Join a homegroup - only option is to create one - which gives anothr pasword!!!

Says there is no homegroup - !X%$£$$.

Have removed homegroup from both, rebboted both machines and gone through it again and still no joy.

I don't even seem to be able to set up a totally different network.

Any help greatly appreciated

Dave

thanks, that what I have done, apart from the fact that windows is not detecting the homegroup already set up.

Router is fine and wireless connections working flawlessly ( double checked with PS3 and Wii (both wirelessly connected to internet).

Go to Network and Sharing Centre/Change Advanced Sharing Options and make sure Turn Network Discovery On is ticked.
Also your network needs to be set as Home.

thanks - sorted
