Home networked Microsoft Messenger and Zone alarm

I have 3 PC's linked with a simple ethernet network with the btopenworld broadband host PC running Windows XP Home (the others run Me and XP Home). Everything ran fine until I installed Zone alarm from the PC Advisor disk- the Messengers on each satellite PC now no longer work and return an error message complaining about being behind the firewall. Is there any way to configure Zonealarm or Messenger to get this arrangement to work?

open zone alarm and choose "firewall" from the left hand side.

click on the "zones" tab in the right hand corner.

click the "add" button in the bottom right hand corner and add the ip address range of your network into the trusted zone.

The free version of Zonealarm doesn't support networks. Zonelabs says you have to use the pro version which does support networks.
