advice required to set up home network 2 computers only mimimum cost able to use broadband on both machines one running win98 one running win me can you help please

Just plug it all up via following the instructions and then run the network set-up wizard on ME and configure 98 via instructions.

one small issue, if you are directly connecting two computers and are not going through a hub, you MUST buy a 'crossover' ethernet cable. So many people make the mistake of using a straight through lead and wonder why they dont get anywhere.
