looks a good list but you could do better. I recently built an AMD XP2800 for about the money you are suggesting. pick the items and then look on different sites for them. I found a variation of £35 on the 2800. Novatech and Savastore very good as well as dabs. Also only go for items in stock or you could wait months for the order. A further thought I will only buy memory from Crucial after I have ordered the mobo and gone through their system of checking for the correct one. Good Luck.

that a 2.8Ghz or Athlon2800? any list/hints of the components u used? i'm mainly thinking of the basics, motherboard, CPU and hard drive once they are in place i'm sure i can handle the rest!!

Have you tried click here ?

If not you should check their prices and goods especially cables.

I would only buy 512MB of RAM instead of 1GB and use the money saved to get a better graphics card. You will see much more benefit out of that especially if u play games

With an XP 2600+ ??? forget it !!

go for the Cooler Master SoA XP 3200+ if you are on a budget!

  howard60 22:22 06 Jan 2004

the mobo is a gigabyte GA-7VT600-L with the XP2800 box complete with cooler and fan.

not with an XP 2600+ please !!

You should go for the Cooler Master SoA XP 3200+ if you are on a budget!

so in all that confusion are u suggesting a "gigabyte GA-7VT600-L" motherboard with built in cooler and fan? and the opposite is get a fan that fits the CPU?!!!

With or without VAT? £34 without VAT on Ebuyer £40 incl VAT.

34 quid without VAT, but the Vat is done on the whole order not individual items, which is okay as might claim it back through comapny...........!
