Hoax virus?

  Diemmess 10:13 22 May 2003

Have received an apology from a friend to me and everyone else on what looks like a genuine list.......for sending a virus - jdbgmgr.exe

It has an icon of a teddy bear and is in Windows System.

It sure is, but I think this may be a re-run of something like the "sucatreg" of a year or so ago.

The plea is to delete the file, but I think therein lies the mischief!

AVG isn't interested, and having phoned another friend who is necessarily well protected by Sophos on a commercial setup, he finds the same file on several different systems.

Until I hear advice to do something, I do not intend to interfere. .........
What do you think?

It's a well known hoax - don't delete the file.

Thanks, it is what I thought but before I rub "Mick's" nose in it, I wanted to be sure
