  AudioVic' 22:44 02 May 2003

Some friends and myself have recieved emails to warn of a VIRUS in C:\Windows\System.

It is: jdbgmgr.exe with a teddy bear icon.

Does anyone know whether it is a Hoax or Virus?

evidently A/vs don't see it.

It is a HOAX! Do not delete it.

  PSF 22:47 02 May 2003

No it is a hoax DO NOT delete the jdbgmgr.exe file.

yes it is a hoax. It has been around for ages now and keeps turning up like the bad penny.

jdbgmgr.exe is a "de-bug" programme for people who write their own programmes. If you have already deleted it don't worry too much you will probably never use it. I haven't.

If you go to click here and then click on Virus Information and type in jdbgmgr in the search box you can read all about it.

Although he is not a virus, he can at times be a bit of a pest. Many PC users receive this *Hoax* e-mail, and then worry themselves about removing it.

To anyone that reads this thread, please don't worry, and as all above have said, it is just a joke that has got a little out of control. Regards to all. J.
