  Bellissima 13:11 06 Aug 2004

i have spware on my comp hijacking my start page...it is a cw variant (latest 1 i think)
no spyware or cw shredder can remove it.

all the advice ive looked up suggests running a prog called "hijackThis" and removing the offending items.
ive run the prog and have diagnostic report but dont know what to remove and if i remove the wrong item il mess up comp...... so do any of u know where i can post the report and get help with which items to remove....
or has anyone done this proccess and can tell me what items are bad ...thanks

i dont know much about this but i have browser hijack blaster and it seems that the R1 value is repeatedly changed bak to its value every time i open and close internet explorer as is homepage too.......(even tho it says about blank thats not wot i get)

  jonnytub 13:30 06 Aug 2004

from a quick look you need to get rid of any lines with search assistant in them and definetly get rid of geek superhero lines.
post the rest of the log in another message

  jonnytub 13:32 06 Aug 2004

also turn off system restore when you delete these from the hijack this. when your'e done deleting restart system restore.

  jonnytub 13:34 06 Aug 2004

anyone else see the wood for the trees??

remove the search bar entries aswell.

  Bellissima 13:37 06 Aug 2004

how do turn off system restore....i opend it but didnt know it was on unlees u choose to restore now

  jonnytub 13:38 06 Aug 2004

right click on my computer, select properties, go to system restore tab, switch off sys restore for all drives.

  Bellissima 13:38 06 Aug 2004

and so do i remove first line (r1) because it says search bar sumwhere in it ...and any others too?

  jonnytub 13:39 06 Aug 2004

sys restore is turned on by default, also remove all lines that have anything with search bar/ assistant, geek superhero, in it.
