High def telly play hd movies output from pc?

If i was to get some High definition movies and then use a vga cable to my lcd tv will the movie play in HD if the Tv is HD ready?


I do not need HD DVD player or anything like that just would like to know if HD movies play on HD Ready tv from pc

I think not. The VGA cable is an analogue source and I think that the only high def input on a TV is the HDMI socket for pure HD content.

TV's will display a signal though component video inputs but the digital to analogue conversion will have been done by the player, whatever you use.

If you are saying will an HD ready TV display a picture from a PC it should because it can handle HD and analogue inputs.

You would need to have a HD DVD player in your PC (either Blu Ray or HD DVD) and a gfx card with an HDMI output, as well as an HDMI cable and HD ready TV, of course.
