I run xp home and avg \avg reports a virus in c:\system volume information\ restore and tells me to run avg for windows.I have done this and run two online virus checks nothing found i still get the message can anyone help
Disable System Restore. That should clear it, do a scan to be sure. Then re-enable System Restore.click here
Volume is the MBR on the drive
Sorry woodchip, in XP it is the folder where System Restore sub-folders reside.
OK as you know yours is XP mine is 98, but why can't it see it
AVG can see it but cannot delete or quarantine because these folders and files are protected within Windows.
