Hidden print window in Office 2000

I need a hand with MS Office 2000 running on Win98.
When print is selected for a document in Word or Exel, the active window header blinks, but the print window does not show up. Only happens the first time a document is opened. Can be alt/tabbed to if more than one application is open. Also, minimizing and mazimizing the App window wil make it show up. Have reinstalled MS Small Bus. Edition to no avail and could not find the magic search combination to find anything on Technet. Any Idea?

Have you tried inserting the Office CD's in turn and selecting the repair option?

I tried repair and then reinstalled to no effect.
I have seen the hidden print window on Office 2000 on a PC at an unrelated location.

The problem was caused by the combination Office Plugin enabled in Norton A/V and MS Office 2000.
It may have been addressed with a patch by now, one can alway alt-tab to the hidden print dialogue or disable the Office plugin in Norton.

I run Norton System Works and Office 2000 with no bother at all. Office plug in on my computer IS allowed. So I am puzzled by the link which blamed Norton.
