I was searching for a file and could not find it. So, I went to the User directory properties screen and ticked the 'HIDDEN' file box. The computer then spend about 6 minutes doing something to lots of files. Now I can't see or access many of my files (such as word documents, and my Explorer favourites. This is a disaster! I think that they must be on the computer because some are still listed under 'recent documents' in Word.
Can anybody help me to restore access to them please?
I did a System Restore but it did not solve the problem. In the end I ticked the hidden box again and set it running. This seems to be a toggle to set and unset whether the files are hidden or not. Thank you for you help though.
