I run XP with all updates present and I have attempted to use the Hibernate function in order to save on power, unfortunately, after following the procedure to enable it, via control panel, power options, ticking the Hibernate box and hitting apply button,it still does not appear on the shutdown page where the standby, turn off and restart buttons are which I am led to believe it should do. Anyone got any ideas?

thank you

Some older BIOS will not support hibernation.

Forgot to say that I use XP in Windows Classic form which brings up the drop down menu choice rather than the in-line buttons.
