Hibenate Help!!

Hi wonder can anyone help please. I have a acer aspire 5735 running vista home basic which after having to do a factory reset just after I bought it has lost the function to hibernate when I close the lid, and from the start menu. All I have are the options of shutdown, sleep or do nothing when closing my lid but I used to be able to hibernate and want that function back as its draining my battery everytime I close the lid. Anyone know how I can get this back please :)
